President Dr. Charlie Than and Myanmar Engineering Council (MEngC) delegation went to an official visit to Malaysia and arrived back on 25 September 2019. They attended the Second Malaysia-UNESCO Cooperation Programme (MUCP) Expert Synthesis Meeting which was held in Batu Ferringhi, Penang Island of Malaysia dated on 23-24 September.
This meeting which is part of the MUCP Synethesis project, is to facilitate ready implementation of identifying key findings through expert analysis and key lessons learnt, customizing of knowledge base to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), results of evaluations conducted and how to further South-South Cooperation (SSC) at regional and inter-regional level using the framework of MUCP.
During this visit, MEngC delegation met UNESCO Director, Chief Minister and new Mayor of Penang. At this meeting, MEngC President participated in the dialogue session for sharing of experience and presented the highlight of "Myanmar Experience in the Federation of Engineering Institutions of Asia and the Pacific (FEIAP) Engineering Education Guidelines and Washington Accord".
